How to Turn Off Amber Alerts on Your iPhone – Toggling the Privacy Options on This iPhone
You have probably got annoyed with how to turn off amber alerts on your iPhone – they really annoy you when they appear. They show up briefly and then just disappear again. You can also get numerous “gencies” while your iPhone is locked, causing you to lose data. It’s a great feature, but one that most users don’t really like using. Luckily, you can learn how to turn off this feature for good.
Step 1: On the Home screen, tap the Settings icon and scroll down to “Notification”. The bottom of the screen will have three dots – each one represents an alert type. Tap the wheel of your choice, and you will see a menu. This is how to turn off AMBER alert on iPhone – choose one of the choices there.
Step 2: Now that you’ve turned off the main alerts, you should focus on the remaining ones. To do this, tap the + sign on the right of any alert you want to disable. Tap the switch next to “SOS”, and this will tell the phone to call you back when a SOS is sent. Next, tap the + sign next to “Call Waiting”, and this will cause the phone to call you when a call is available. This is how to turn off amber alerts for missing child on your iPhone.
Step 3: If none of the above work, or if your amber-type alert LED stays on, you need to first restart your iPhone. In order to do this, you will need to go into your cellular settings app. Open it, then tap “reset” at the bottom of the screen.
Once you have done this, you will have to go into the “Settings” app. Scroll down to where it says “ometric data”, tap the option there. This will let you turn off the “ometer” bar, which is what usually shows the percentage of your phone’s battery life left. You can also adjust the time it takes for your alert messages to appear.
Once you have done this, you can then turn back on the “igraphical alert” feature of your iphone. You can do this by going into “Settings” and tapping “igraphical”, then tapping “enable”. This will allow you to use the feature until it stops working, which shouldn’t take long. Note however, that in some cases, these alerts will be shown whenever you receive new emails, texts, calls or other types of notifications.
If none of the above tips work, your next step should be to try resetting your phone’s data. The quickest way to do this is to connect your iPhone to a computer with an available USB cable, and download the device’s master restore software. Once you’ve downloaded the software, you can then attempt a factory reset – this will essentially wipe out all of your data, so it is recommended you do this with a backup in the case things don’t go as you intend. You can then proceed to reset the alert feature on your phone to make it show regular notifications again.
As a final step, you can then attempt to toggle the “uber alert” setting to either turn it off or on. This works in much the same way as the previous steps and involves simply connecting your iPhone to your computer through a USB cable. To toggle the feature, you simply need to click the “Toggle Alerts” button found at the bottom right-hand corner of your iPhone’s screen. Finally, you can then put the iPhone into airplane mode (hold down the home key until the indicator light turns green) and connect your iPhone again to your computer to complete the process.
